Exeter businessman Paul Banks, Managing Director of catering company Fresha,
attributes much of the company's success to his early decision to outsource a
key element of the business.
"Fresha
was a business start - up just 2 years ago" explained Paul "and although I had
management experience I'd never run a company before and was completely new to
the complex employment issues and how to get the best from my staff. However, I
recognised from the outset the importance of getting it right in this vital
area. Outsourcing these difficult
aspects of the business has allowed me to focus on motivating my people and
making Fresha a success".
The
company, providing fresh, high quality, "food on the go" products to business,
has grown rapidly and now employs 11 people (including the directors). "My
decision to appoint local people experts HR Advantage was based on my
requirement for a business partner that could contribute to the business plan
and deal with all the people issues that arise in running a small company. HR
Advantage have met, and exceeded all my expectations. I am getting all the
benefits of a professional HR team without bearing the cost of having to employ
someone to do this work" said Paul "and I am free to do what I do best - being
innovative and developing my business. I'm sure we wouldn't be where we are
today without the involvement of the HR Advantage team".
Stuart McKellar, Director of Honiton based HR Advantage said "We focus on providing
adaptable solutions to SMEs and have the flexibility to provide Paul with what
he wants, when he needs it. Our
continuing involvement has freed Paul to focus on his business and to bring it
alive through his people" continued Stuart. "Everything about Paul's business
is fresh and quality - we understand the importance of allowing Paul to operate
his business whilst providing a bespoke service resolving all of his people
issues. We regard ourselves as part of Paul's team".
The
company's high quality sandwich products are prepared, made, packed using
environmentally friendly packaging and delivered to customers on the same day
with no carry over. Surplus product is donated to St Petrocs centre for the
homeless in Exeter,
illustrating the social responsibility of the company.
