Keeping your finger on the pulse…

Information and Consultation

Well, the countdown to the implementation of the new rules for informing and consulting with employees has now reached zero.

As from 6th April, organisations with over 150 employees now need to be aware that staff have the right to be informed and consulted on a regular basis about important issues in the organisation.

In essence, this means that employees can request an Information & Consultation agreement, which would trigger the requirement to inform and consult, or the employer can begin the process themselves.

What could be the benefits?

  • Stronger, more productive employee relations
  • A more inclusive culture which may encourage more productivity and more effective contributions from staff
  • A workforce that feels valued, fostering improved motivation and commitment to the organisation

This is a very brief overview but for further information on the specifics of the legislation and how you can make it work in practice, please contact Campbell Ritchie on 01494 435 310 or email campbell@hradvantage.co.uk
