On Call Advice and Guidance
Clients of HR Advantage will be familiar with the concept of on-call advice and guidance i.e. the ability to phone us with any HR query at any time and receive a timely and effective response. This month, we are focusing on our on-call advice and guidance service to highlight it to all our readers, including non-clients.
The types of questions we are asked by those using our on-call advice and guidance service vary widely.
Recent examples include:
• I want to employ someone from overseas – what do I have to do?
• My new employee’s pre-employment medical has come back with some concerning information – what should I do?
• How do I implement childcare vouchers?
• How do I go about making someone redundant?
• What is the going rate for pay increases at the moment?
• An employee has raised a grievance and I need some advice on how to handle it?
• A disciplinary offence occurred during our Christmas party do I need to follow it up?
As you can see, we really are here to assist you with any HR query that arises. However, our on-call and advice guidance does not just mean a telephone conversation. We will ensure that your issue is fully resolved through to completion if you need us to. This may mean drafting up written correspondence to give to your employee, writing a ‘script’ for you, putting a new policy in place, putting you in touch with a suitable contact or making enquiries on your behalf. We can really do as much or as little as you want us to.
How much does it cost?
Regular clients will already have on-call advice and guidance time as part of their monthly service. However, other companies choose to just contact us on an on demand basis. Our fees for on-demand advice and guidance will typically be £90 per hour but more complex issues requiring the input of our employment lawyer or specialist senior HR consultant expertise will be charged at a higher rate. All prices are agreed upfront and where we can we will give an estimate or an indication of maximum cost as quickly as possible when we know what the issue is and the support required.
