Company Profile: Spin out from major university with 18 employees.
Situation:
By early 2002, the Managing Director wanted to establish and then develop the HR infrastructure to support an expanding hi-tech business but without the cost of creating an in-house function.
What HR Advantage Did:
Undertook an initial HR audit. This included meeting with senior executives and a cross-section of employees. This enabled us to understand the needs of the business and develop a support plan that would be based on business priorities, build on strengths and tackle any weaknesses. A set of HR objectives and deliverables were agreed.
Results:
Since the inception of the retained service all employment documentation has been updated to ensure legal compliance, effective administration and control processes in recruitment, induction, communications, performance management and absence management have been established. In addition the company has access to on call HR advice to resolve any issues immediately.
